Manifesto
My name is Arianna, I'm a graphic designer who still prefers pen to paper. I am a graduate student at California College of the Arts earning my MFA in Design. I decided to return to school and hone my skills several years after graduating from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Communication, a B.A. in Spanish, and a minor in Communication Design. Although I have a broad range of interests, my passion lies in design, and I believe my versatility has only provided me with more inspiration in my work.
My work as a creative originated in film photography, which gave me a profound appreciation for physical productions of art. I believe this has been essential in influencing my current work. I am driven by a passion to bring concepts to life and express the personality of every project I commit to.
My interest expanded with an infatuation for logos, branding, and type, which led me to study design. I have taken the opportunity to dive deeper into what inspires me most, like exploring the design of the music industry. My hope is that I will one day create logos, posters, album art, and merchandise for bands that are positively influencing the industry.
In my design practice, I appreciate that every different project is a learning experience. My studies have allowed me to refine my own style, as well as taught me to be equally well versed in things outside of my comfort zone. I want my work to reflect the diligence I have for each project and the authenticity of the people and ideas behind the design itself.
When I am not designing, I am usually skiing or teaching yoga. My love for the outdoors has inspired me to draw nature into my work. Whether I am designing or not, I am always listening to the music that inspires me such as Led Zeppelin, Santana, and Turnover, among many others.
At the intersection of novelty and tenacity is where I believe my work lives and flourishes. I strive to create things that inspire and engage the viewer, while still emphasizing strong attention to detail. I believe good design not only looks good but functions even better.
“I’m driven by the hope that I haven’t made my best work yet” – Paula Scher
